“Men as fit as you, when your everyday strength is gone, can draw on a mysterious reservoir of power far greater. Then it is that you can reach for the stars. That is the way champions are made.” — George Pocock
More about Jasper
First Strokes
Jasper grew up on Lake Lanier, site of the 1996 Olympic Games, paddling as soon as he could hold a paddle. He joined the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Team at age 9 in their beginning racing league, and then joined the high performance team paddling every day after school. In 2022 he travelled to Bratislava to race in the Olympic Hopes Regatta for his first international competition. At age seventeen, Jasper is competing in his second Junior World competition as part of the U.S. Junior National Team.
Off the Water
Jasper loves many outdoor activities including anything on the water, camping, hiking and rock climbing. He loves playing guitar and local live music, and has road tripped extensively all over the U.S. and several places internationally. One of the best parts of being on the team are the awesome opportunities to travel and experience new places and cultures. Having just graduated high school, Jasper will major in Biology at the University of North Georgia while continuing to train full-time.
