More about Bennett
I spent lots of time on the Upper Ocoee as a child, because my grandfather, Jim Kirk was one of the engineers that worked on the facility for the 1996 Olymics. No one in my family had ever kayaked. I thought it looked like so much fun, and I started begging my parents for a kayak. For my 10th birthday, I got a lake kayak. I quickly realized I wanted a kayak to go in bigger water, so my dad bought whitewater kayaks for both of us. The Ocoee River Championship Race in 2018 was the first race I entered. We didn’t even know rules of slalom kayaking, but my dad signed me up.
Off the Water
I quite enjoy rock climbing and mountain biking. When time allows, I enjoy time with my family, especially my two older brothers.
