Level 3: Coastal Kayaking Instructor Development Workshop (IDW)

Training to become an ACA-Certified Coastal Kayaking Instructor is an excellent way to formalize your own kayaking skills and gain the tools for effectively sharing kayaking with other paddlers. Our 3-day workshop will introduce candidates to a variety of ways that we can not simply teach, but promote learning in our students. This is a busy and interactive course, with exemplar sessions, and plenty of opportunities for candidates to deliver practice sessions, receive feedback from peers and staff, and refine their approach. We’ll work in coastal environments with waves up to 2 feet, small surf, and current up to 2 knots.
Candidates will leave with refined personal skills, an improved arsenal of instructional tools, and a personalized action plan to prepare for an Instructor Certification Exam (ICE). (Pinniped offers a L3 ICE on August 26-27)
$480 per person
Currently certified L3 instructors may use this course as an L3 Update, for a reduced price of $320.
