This is a two day course designed for participants who are new to kayaking or for those who are interested in improving their kayak skills. In this course, we will progress through various topics starting on land and then moving to the water.
Topics include:
* Overview and history of Kayaking
* Kayak strokes and maneuvers
* Rescue techniques
* Wet exits and re-entry
* Reading water (tides, waves, wind, etc.)
* Kayak route planning
Kayaks and paddling equipment may be provided per request and availability. Fee free to Inquire with me! You may also bring your own kayak and gear. Additionally, wet/dry suit and other personal accessories may be needed depending on water and land temperatures. Dates: September 7 -8 2024
Times: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Cost: $200 ($100 per day)
Additional Details: Please bring any snacks and water to keep you fueled throughout the day. A lunch break will likely be taken at Rocky Point Park on day 1. I recommend having food packed for the water on day 2. Ideally we’ll take a lunch break on Hart Miller Island.
