ACA Advanced Communications Workshops (ACW) in an Instructor Endorsement which promotes seamless integration of qualified individuals with disabilities into paddle sport programs. The emphasis is on optimizing instruction for those with visual impairments / blindness; hearing impairments / deafness and speech and language difficulties. Certification as a paddlesport instructor or leader is preferred but not a pre-requisite. Proficient beginner level skills in a kayak is required.
ACW Outcomes:
● Successful ACA certified instructors and leaders can earn the Advanced Communications (AC) Instructor Endorsement.
● The AC Endorsement is an additional credentialing on all current ACA certification(s).
● ACA members who are not instructors or leaders can earn a “pass”. This can be upgraded to an endorsement if member receives instructor or leader certification.
● Non-ACA members can participate in course, but will not receive Endorsement or a “pass”.
