Instruction That Meets You Where You Are
CRI specializes in one- to six-day clinics in rowing, paddle rafting, kayaking, and canoeing, designed for beginners through advanced paddlers. They also offer Swiftwater Rescue training and river safety courses—because understanding the river is just as important as enjoying it.
No matter your background or goals, Canyon River Instruction is committed to helping you build confidence and competence through experiential learning, custom instruction, and a strong foundation in river stewardship.
All CRI courses are taught by ACA-certified instructors and follow the ACA curriculum—the national gold standard in paddlesports education. Founded in 1880, the American Canoe Association leads the way in paddlesport safety, training, and instruction. Being recognized as an ACA Pro School is a mark of distinction, and CRI wears it proudly.
Stewardship and Access Matter
CRI is a licensed river operator through Colorado Parks & Wildlife and operates under permit on the Arkansas River via the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area (AHRA). Every user fee CRI pays supports clean, safe, and well-maintained river access for everyone. CRI deeply values its role in contributing to a healthy river corridor and recognizes the dedication of the rangers and park staff who make that possible.
