Level 4: Whitewater Kayaking Instructor Certification Workshop (IDW/ICE)

Level 4 Whitewater Kayaking Instructor is a program emphasizing safety, enjoyment and instruction of whitewater kayaking skills in public, private and commercial settings. The course will have a minimum of 40 contact hours over 5 days. On river instruction will be on the St. Francis River, Missouri, a Class 3-3+ section– Lower St. Francis: Millstream Gardens to Silver Mines (Tiemann Shut-Ins). At higher cfs, we will use the Upper St. Francis section. Off river instruction will be at Cinco de Mayo Campground (where accommodations are separately available). Applicants should register on the MWA website and be able to meet the requirements of ACA’s Level 4: Whitewater Kayaking Skills Assessment.
Cost is $550, due in advance, with registration.
This five-day course immerses participants in kayak instruction. Participants will need to be prepared to be on water about 4/5 of the time, regardless of weather conditions, unless hazardous (storms or extreme heat or cold). Participants should bring whatever items they need to paddle.
Course guide is provided as part of the program cost. Successful completion of the entire program will result in a four year nationally recognized ACA Certification. Instruction will be delivered by Tom Burroughs
