This is a Level 1 Canoe Instructor Certification Workshop (ICW) hosted by Cleveland Metro Parks and facilitated by Level 4 Instructor Trainer Educator Jordan Taylor, owner of Paddlesport Institute.

Additional Fees not included: Annual ACA Membership $40, Annual SEIC Dues $30, Meals and Lodging not included.

This development and certification workshop will prepare you to introduce people to canoeing in lake and very slow moving rivers or sheltered coastlines. We will develop and assess teaching & presentation skills, strokes maneuvers & rescues, risk management, ACA course administration and other relevant topics.

Jordan Taylor has over thirty years of experience instructing paddling and has served many organizations in an instructor development role: Davidson College Outdoor Program (NC) The Calleva River School (DC), National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center (CO), Zoar Outdoor (MA), Madawaska Canoe Center (Ontario) and others. Taylor is passionate about educational spaces designed with lots of different kinds of people in mind.
