The ACA Level 1, “Just The Strokes,” the on-water component of competency #1 & 2, where you will discover and learn about a kayak, the safety features, proper use of the portable flotation device, PFD, paddle and paddle lengths.
On the water you will learn:

• The components of catch, propulsion, and release (CPR)
• The forward stroke and sweep
• The reverse stroke and sweep
• Turning 360
• Bracing
• Edging
• The low brace turn
