Level 2: Essentials of Kayak Touring Instructor Certification Workshop (IDW/ICE)
Camp Sebago, Southfields, NY, USA
Learn and practice how to be an American Canoe Association (ACA) certified Level 2 Coastal Kayaking Instructor in this three-day Instructor Certification Workshop (ICW). This ICW will be taught by Josh Hall and Julie McCoy. The first two days will cover instruction and practice, with the third and final day an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their instruction skills for certification.
ACA Instructors are leaders in their local paddling communities, demonstrating the skills and knowledge needed for fun, safe journeys on the water. Coastal Kayaking instructors focus on this in a coastal or estuarine environment. Paddling, navigation, group leading, and incident management are just some of the skills a successful instructor will possess.
Participants must be members of the American Canoe Association in good standing and should be familiar with the skills and knowledge for Level 2 skills. Current First Aid and CPR certification is required as well. For more information, visit the ACA landing page for instructors.
