Level 2: Essentials of Kayak Touring Skills Course

Learn the skills to safely enjoy paddling bays, lakes, and marshes. Begin with a morning session that includes discussions of safety and equipment, and practice strokes and techniques for launching and landing.
In the afternoon, work on wet exits, assisted rescues, and self-rescue skills. Adjust the agenda to fit your interests. For example, after covering the basics, practice techniques for paddling in surf or rough water.
Benefit from safety gear and kayaks included. If you’re thinking of buying a kayak, this is your chance to try different options. If you already own a kayak, this course will prepare you to enjoy future challenges and adventures safely.
Enjoy a hands-on class, including swimming and climbing into half-sunk kayaks. Join a wildlife tour to practice the strokes and skills you’ve learned at no extra charge.
