Paul Scrutton, an ACA Surf Instructor, is offering a class in Surf Kayaking in ocean swell. The course introduces paddlers to the essentials of surf kayak technique and ocean safety considerations with an emphasis on fun. Jon Godwin will be joining us for safety.
Boat requirements: The course is geared toward surf kayaks, waveskis, SOT kayaks and whitewater style boats. If you are whitewater kayaker trying to decide what to bring, a river runner boat with a little length on it and some edges helps (avoid spud and creek boats), something around 8′-10′ long with a flatter hull works good.
I will be digging into some of the material from below, but am open to improvements at all levels.

Participants should be aware that this course has wave height maximums and wind maximums (see above link), so could cancel if conditions are unsuitable. We will try to make things work as we can though.
