April 5-6 Instructor Certification Exam
This 6 day ACA workshop is one of the required steps to certify as a Level 3 or 4 Swiftwater Rescue Instructor. Pre-requisite L3 or or L4 Skills Assessment or minimum 16 hours prior swiftwater training.
Once enrolled you will have access to a google classroom with a wealth of resources to learn more about the course.
Jordan Taylor has trained with Mike Mather, Jim Coffey, Robin Pope, and Sam Fowlkes to become credentialed to train Rescue Instructors. In addition to running courses through the Paddlesport Institute, Jordan currently instructs Swiftwater Rescue for Sierra Rescue and the Calleva River School. He has taught beginners in their first season, Class V+ boaters, and Navy Seals.
Taylor has over thirty years of experience instructing whitewater and has served many organizations in an instructor development role: Davidson College Outdoor Program (NC) The Calleva River School (DC), National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center (CO), Zoar Outdoor (MA), Madawaska Canoe Center (Ontario) and others. Taylor is passionate about educational spaces designed with lots of different kinds of people in mind.
