This course takes place on the class II+ recreational reach of the Rogue River near Galice, Oregon. Participants meet at Almeda Campground June 1 & 2 at 9:00 a.m. and travel downriver 4.5 miles throughout the day to Grave Creek Boat Ramp, utilizing the on-water venue and shoreline for classroom, practicum, and scenario learning. Swiftwater rescue skillsets will focus on Level 4 inflatable craft specific rescue (raft/ IK) however, other watercraft are welcome to join. Participants provide their own transportation and watercraft unless prior arrangements are made with the instructor.
