Level 4: Swiftwater Rescue Skills Course (Women’s Specific)

Rogue River, OR, USA

This course is intended for anyone who gender identifies as a woman, she/her (regardless of sex) as a way to support the diversification of whitewater and promote gender equality in the guiding and outdoor adventure industries.

This course takes place on the class II+ Recreational reach of the Rogue River near Galice, Oregon. Participants meet at Almeda Campground June 15 & 16 at 9:00 a.m. and travel downriver 4.5 miles throughout the day to Grave Creek Boat Ramp, utilizing the on-water venue and shoreline for classroom, practicum, and scenario learning. Swiftwater rescue skillsets will focus on Level 4 inflatable craft specific rescue (raft/ IK) however, other watercraft are welcome to join. Participants provide their own transportation and watercraft unless prior arrangements are made with the instructor. Shuttle service is provided and the total cost per participant is $250 for the 2 day/16 hr course.
