This Level 3-4 Skills Assessment Course is strongly recommended for anyone considering a Level 3-4 Instructor Certification Workshop (see listing for 6/10/026) or River Leader Certification Workshop. This course will be fast paced, aimed at covering and assessing all skills in the L3-4 curricula for both Solo & Tandem Canoe. You will see teaching models for every skill that you can use in your own teaching. You can count on leveling up your exisiting skillset, but you shuold already be comfortable in Class 2-3 Whitewater in Solo Canoe, or Solo and Tandem. This is not a course to try Solo Canoing for the first time.
Jordan Taylor (he/they) has over thirty years of experience instructing whitewater and has served many organizations in an instructor development role: Davidson College Outdoor Program (NC) The Calleva River School (DC), National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center (CO), Zoar Outdoor (MA), Madawaska Canoe Center (Ontario) and others. Jordan currently holds certifications as follows: Canoe L4 Instructor Trainer Educator (ITE)-L5 Instructor. Kayak L4 ITE-L5 Instructor Trainer (IT). Rescue L4 IT-L5 Instructor. Taylor is passionate about educational spaces designed with lots of different kinds of people in mind.
