Victory! Public Land Sales Removed from Senate Budget Reconciliation Bill

Paddle High-5 Poudre River

Thanks to the powerful response from the outdoor recreation community, last night, Senator Mike Lee officially withdrew his proposal to sell off millions of acres of public land from the Senate’s budget reconciliation bill.

This marks a major victory for paddlers, hikers, climbers, anglers, and all who rely on public lands for recreation and connection to the outdoors. In just days and with your help, Outdoor Alliance helped send hundreds of thousands of letters to lawmakers asking them not to sell our public lands—and it worked.

The fight is not over, and there are still several provisions in the bill that will remove safeguards for public lands, and local and Tribal communities across the country. Along with our partners at Outdoor Alliance, we will continue to provide updates and opportunities to take action. Your voice is making a difference, take a moment to celebrate what we can accomplish when we stand together.
