Board Committee Descriptions: 

Each committee within our organization operates with diligence and professionalism, committed to advancing the Association’s mission and values through strategic oversight, ethical governance, and informed decision-making. 

 

Executive Committee The Executive Committee stands at the forefront of leadership, comprising the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and two directors. Empowered to act on behalf of the Board between sessions, this committee ensures timely decision-making and policy execution. With a mandate to uphold organizational vision and efficiency, the Executive Committee combines strategic acumen with operational excellence to drive sustainable growth and impact. 

Finance Committee Led by the Treasurer and composed of Board members with financial expertise, including athlete representation, the Finance Committee oversees fiscal governance and stewardship of the Association’s resources. Tasked with financial planning, reporting, and ensuring sound investment practices, this committee plays a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and advancing strategic priorities. 

Audit Committee Comprising independent directors and Board members with financial oversight expertise, the Audit Committee plays a critical role in safeguarding financial transparency and compliance. The Audit Committee recommends auditors, review audit reports, assess internal controls, and provide counsel on financial matters to uphold accountability and trust within the Association. 

Property Management Subcommittee Under the umbrella of the Finance Committee, the Property Management Subcommittee oversees the strategic management and policies governing the Association’s real estate assets. Comprising representatives from property management entities and guided by financial prudence, our subcommittee evaluates property acquisitions and disposals to optimize asset utilization and support long-term organizational objectives. 

Nominating and Governance Committee The Nominating and Governance Committee is entrusted with the responsibility of identifying, vetting, and nominating qualified candidates for Board positions and committee memberships. With a focus on diversity and expertise, our committee ensures robust governance practices and fair election procedures, fostering a leadership pipeline that reflects the Association’s values and strategic direction. 

Ethics Committee Ensuring ethical standards are upheld across all facets of the Association, the Ethics Committee advises on ethical policies, updates guidelines, and addresses ethical concerns. Comprising members with a commitment to integrity and fairness, including athlete representatives, this committee promotes ethical conduct and accountability as foundational principles of our organizational culture. 

Grievance Committee The Grievance Committee administers the Association’s grievance procedures with impartiality and fairness. Composed of members, including athlete representatives, we oversee the selection of Hearing Panels, review grievance outcomes, and recommend policy enhancements to uphold procedural integrity and equitable outcomes.
