U.S. Slalom Athletes Have Been Busy on the World Cup Circuit

The first three ICF Canoe Slalom World Cups took place this month in Augsburg, Germany; Prague, Czech Republic; and Krakow Poland.  

World Cup 1 – Augsburg: 10 U.S. National Team athletes competed. We are very excited to share that Evy Leibfarth who will compete next month at the 2024 Paris Olympics, placed 3rd in the Women’s Kayak Cross Final and earned a bronze medal! Evy also placed 7th in the Women’s Canoe event, a huge confidence boost to kick off her international racing season.

Men’s Team: Casey Eichfeld, Nathaniel Francis, Joshua Joseph, Zach Lokken, Kyler Long, Tyler Westfall

World Cup 2 – Prague: 12 U.S. National Team athletes competed. Evy for the second World Cup in a row qualified for the Women’s Canoe Final and secured a 9th place finish. Kyler Long also had a very impressive result, placing 13th in the Men’s Kayak Cross event. This was Kyler’s best result in a Senior kayak cross World Cup, and he is an athlete you will want to watch in upcoming international events.

World Cup 3 – Krakow: 11 U.S. National Team athletes competed. Two U.S women qualified for the Women’s Kayak final, Ria Sribar and Evy Leibfarth. Ria had her best yet finish in a World Cup event and placed third, earning a bronze medal in the Women’s Kayak event. Evy placed 9th in the Women’s Kayak event and had another great performance in the Women’s Canoe event, qualifying for the final and securing a 7th place finish.
