The countdown to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles is on, and excitement is building for the return of canoe/kayak competition on the world’s biggest stage. From the twists of Canoe Slalom to the speed of Canoe Sprint and the power of Paracanoe, paddling fans are already planning their Games experience.
If you’re hoping to cheer from the stands, here’s what you need to know about how ticketing will work and when to take action.
Key Ticketing Dates
January 14 – March 18, 2026: LA28 Olympic Ticket Draw Registration
To access tickets for Olympic canoe/kayak events, fans must first register for the LA28 Olympic Ticket Draw. This registration enters you into a randomized selection process for a chance to receive a designated time slot to purchase tickets during the first official sales phase.
Register for the LA28 Ticket Draw
March 31 – April 7: Time Slot Notifications
During this period, LA28 will email registrants to let them know whether they’ve been assigned a time slot for an upcoming presale or ticket drop.
April 2 – April 6: LA & OKC Locals Presale
Fans living in eligible counties near Los Angeles and Oklahoma City who are selected through the draw will get early access to purchase tickets before the general public.
Access is still tied to your assigned time slot, but this window gives local supporters a head start on some of the most in-demand events.
April 9 – April 19: Ticket Drop 1
This is the first major Olympic ticket sales window. If you receive a time slot, you’ll be able to log in during your assigned window and purchase tickets.
Olympic Canoe/Kayak Event Dates
- Canoe Slalom: July 14–22, 2028
- Canoe Sprint: July 25–29, 2028
These sessions are expected to be popular, especially finals and medal rounds, so being ready when your time slot opens will be key.
Paralympic Ticketing Information
While Paracanoe competition will take place August 24–26, 2028, Paralympic ticket sales will begin separately in 2027.
That means:
- You do not need to register in the 2026 Olympic ticket draw for Paralympic events
- More details about Paralympic ticketing timelines and processes will be shared closer to 2027
ACA will help share those updates as soon as they become available so the paddling community can show up in full force to support Paracanoe athletes.
Tips for Paddling Fans
- Don’t miss the registration window (Jan 14–Mar 18, 2026) for Olympic tickets
- Watch your email for time slot notifications
- Know your preferred dates (heats vs. finals, slalom vs. sprint) before your purchase window opens
