Officials - 2024 Nationals & Certification Opportunities

  • 2024 Nationals
  • Officials Training & Certification
  • This is a call for all officials and volunteers interested in officiating or volunteering at the 2024 ACA Sprint National Championships.   The Event dates are August 6-9,  2024 at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia.  The certified officials meeting will be at 5pm on August 5th in the bottom of the finish tower.

Note, Nationals are a SafeSport compliant event. This means if you are a certified official – you must be an active ACA competition member and have completed your SafeSport (or your SafeSport update – this is a yearly requirement) and your background check (this is every other year). If you are aspiring to be a certified sprint official – we encourage you to become an ACA competition member and complete your safesport and background check by July 1, 2024.

Level 1 training is being offered Saturday, June 22 – 2pm-4pm in an online format.  If you know anyone who would like to take the training, please  have them  sign up on the ACA website under Competition  – Sprint – Officials –  If you wish to volunteer – PLEASE volunteer. A majority of volunteers will just need to review the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies and how to report misconduct. This allows us to be SafeSport compliant when it comes to volunteers.

Chief Official for the 2024 ACA Sprint National Championships will be Connie Naughton. The rest of the competition committee will be decided shortly. Plan for an officials meeting on August 5th at 5 pm in the bottom of the finish tower.

Our understanding is we will all need to fill out a non-athlete registration for SafeSport purposes prior to the event ( as soon as I receive it I will forward it to those who are planning on officiating at Nationals). This is simply to allow the ACA SafeSport compliant staff member to confirm your Membership. SafeSport and background check. Please – have your SafeSport and background check and membership in order by June 15th. This will be confirmed by the ACA office. This is a situation that requires you track those items yourself. Thus, the reason we have a manual check before the event.

If you are interested in officiating please respond to usofficialscsp@gmail.com with the following:

    • Your name
    • Email
    • Cell phone
    • Shirt size (just in case we need it)
    • Official Level or volunteer or volunteer wishing to be an official
    • Your availability – all day, half a day, and which days.
    • Your ACA member number
    • Your arrival date/time

    Thank you,

    The ACA Sprint Official Committee
