Diversify Whitewater Paddling Weekend – Seattle

RegistrationOur third annual Diversify Whitewater Paddling Weekend is coming to Lake Sammamish State Park and the Snoqualmie River on September 9 and 10, 2023. The first day we have morning and afternoon introductory paddling skills instruction including kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards (SUPs). Experienced and friendly volunteer instructors will guide you in the safe use of paddling equipment in the warm water, and all you need to bring is whatever you are comfortable wearing in the water, and a dry change of clothes when you get out. We will have a festive catered lunch and raffle prizes between the morning and afternoon sessions. The second day we will have some more safety instruction and then you will be guided down a few miles of a mellow section of the Snoqualmie River below Fall City, paddling a kayak, canoe, or SUP. This section is the site of a large river restoration project and a great place to see birds and other wildlife. Again, all you need the second day is something to wear in the water and dry clothes for after you get out. The event will wrap up with another catered lunch and lots of raffle prizes, including scholarships for beginner river kayaking courses and some nice paddling gear.
