A free paddling event for paddlers in the Kansas City area – kayaking demos (adults only), group paddles, tip sessions, raffle, BYOF cookout, and lighted sunset paddle!
Paddlepalooza Kansas City is a day of fun and on-the-water demos for paddlers in the Kansas City area. Join us Saturday May 17th to try out a wide variety of kayaks and enjoy fun activities. We’ll have new kayaks, and will be swapping our member boats around to try out also. Come for the demos, stay for the cookout and lighted night paddle!
Whether you’re looking to upgrade your kayak, compare different types of kayaks from entry level to sea kayaks, or connect with others who make time to paddle for fun, fitness, or sanity—this day is for you.
– Demo kayaks. Bring your own to swap, and try out new boats and boards from participating companies traveling into town just for this event. Brands participating:
– Jackson Kayaks
– Lekker Kayaks
– Perception Kayaks
– Swell Watersports
– Wilderness Systems
… plus a variety of member kayaks (including Eddyline, P&H, Dagger), paddleboards and possibly canoes!
– Group paddles to enjoy time on the water, practice some strokes, and play a game along the way.
– Learn quick tips on topics of interest (New Paddler Tips, Safety Basics, Kayak/SUP Camping Basics, …).
– Games on the water and around the firepit.
– Raffle!
– Cookout with camp cooking tips and samples. Bring a sample of your favorite to share!
– Sunset lighted paddle – 360 degree white light required, extra lighted decorations highly recommended!
– Firepit time after dark.
Kids are welcome at activities except the kayak demos and raffle. The demos and raffle are for adults.
