USCG Appoints ACA Board of Directors President to NBSAC

Robin Pope

Robin Pope, the President of the ACA Board of Directors, has been appointed as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard’s National Boating Safety Advisory Committee (NBSAC).

The twenty NBSAC members are evenly selected from disciplines representing state boating safety programs, recreational boating related equipment manufacturers, and national recreational boating organizations. NBSAC members serve three-year terms and provide advice and recommendations on matters relating to recreational boating safety – which is then sent to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through the Coast Guard Commandant and the Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy.

There are some other knowledgeable and passionate paddlers and recreational boaters who have been appointed – we’re talking about you Peg Phillips – ACA kayaking instructor and recipient of the State Director of the year Award!
