More about Kali
First Strokes
After growing up a gymnast, I took a break and starting coming to kayak practice because my mum ran a waterman’s program and was the club coach (and previous Australian Sprint Kayak Olympian). After racing at nationals and qualifying for my first international competition at 14, I fell completely in love with the sport, the community, and the opportunity for growth. Also it keeps me close to my family who are all involved in the sport. My Dad is a previous elite coach and my brother competes along side me for the U.S. National Team.
Off the Water
I study Real Estate Development and Business Administration at the University of Southern California. I also work as a California State Parks Lifeguard at Crystal Cove. I really love a fun girls dinner and spending time with my closest family and friends, especially if it’s in the ocean or doing something active. I travel often to train in other countries so I love to explore and find the best coffee shops in every location. Cross training is a big part of my daily routine so I spend a lot of time doing activities such as running, going to the gym, yoga, and sometimes swimming or cycling!
