This update provides a unique opportunity to be an essential contributor to the health of the ACA. We will be playing in and with a variety of paddlecraft (SUP, Canoe, Kayak). This will give us ALL the space to experiment with feeling a bit awkward or uncomfortable while building new connections to ourselves, our teaching practice, and our peers. We are ALL just paddlers and we can ALL learn from, and share with, each other. You will not be evaluated on your competency in unfamiliar craft, so no worries needed, just fun. To earn the update you only need to have an open attitude to learning and be an active participant in the process. As with any update, we will be exploring growth in our personal paddling, teaching, and current ACA functionality.

For those seeking a new instructor certification, this event is offering a 3-day Level 1-2: Essentials of River Kayaking Instructor Certification Workshop (ICW) which costs $380. This course will be hosted on October 11, 12, AND 13th.

  • Level 1: Introduction to Kayaking
  • Level 2: Essentials of River Kayaking

This event will also offer a one day Paddlesports Angler Instructor Endorsement on Monday, October 14th which costs $85 and is available to already certified instructors. Enrollment in this endorsement is also open to new instructor candidates participating in the ICW, but will require successful completion of at least the Level 1 Instructor certification to complete the endorsement.
