A learn-to-paddle event at the confluence of the Poquessing Creek and main stem Delaware River in the Torresdale section of Philadelphia. It is all flatwater on a tidal section of the river. We have timed our event to take place 2 hours before high tide and ending 2 hours afterward. We have 14 tandem kayaks available that participants can paddle. All participants wear PFDs – no exception. There will be 3 Delaware Riverkeeper Network (DRN) staff that have taken the National Canoe Safety Patrol rescue training on hand. There will also be the DRN 21′ power boat underway and nearby for added safety.
