Swiftwater Rescue ICW
Want to become an American Canoe Association (ACA) Certified Swiftwater Rescue Instructor? Learn to teach others how to stay safe on the river. This course is for experienced boaters and rescuers. Instructor Candidates will learn industry standards for teaching Swiftwater Rescue and are assessed on teaching, technical knowledge, rescue ability, and group management skills.
This Level III-IV Instructor Certification Workshop (ICW) is offered over 5 consecutive days in two parts:
1. Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) three days focused on curriculum development and ACA teaching theory.
2. Instructor Certification Exam (ICE) two days of skills and knowledge evaluation.
