Paddling will take place on Ellis Bay in Riverlands, a large back water bay of the Mississippi River in West Alton, Missouri.
There is no current in the bay but there can be waves depending on wind speeds and direction.
Mississippi River Water Trail Association invites the public to come out and paddle in 3 different ways:
- A “free paddle” area where 30 people at a time can paddle in a large area staffed with safety boaters.
- Two different tour groups that will lead 10 paddlers at a time out onto the bay and back.
- A voyageur canoe that can take up to 12 paddlers at a time out onto the bay and back.
On land there will be a live band, food trucks, and several booths featuring like minded groups.
